Forbidden Lyrics (Lightning Strikes #3) by Jodie Larson

Falling in love with your best friend’s little sister is never a good idea. Getting caught kissing her, that’s even worse.

I watched Lizzie Donovan grow up – from pigtails and scraped knees to pouty lips and lush curves.

It wasn’t until one night nine years ago in the front seat of her car, with her lips on mine, that I realized what I was feeling was far more than friendship.

Of course, I felt her brother’s wicked left hook shortly after.

One promise was all it took to push her away.

Not anymore.

This is my chance.

I have three months to convince her that she’s the song in my heart and we’re more than just forbidden lyrics.

My Review:
Forbidden Lyrics (Lightning Strikes #3)Forbidden Lyrics by Jodie Larson

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is book three in this series, and was just as enjoyable as the first two books. There is a lot going on in this book, and will fit in with many readers preferences: Rockers, friends little sister, second chance, maybe even a little friends to lover romance too!

Brecken is a Rocker, and the bandmate of Lizzie’s brother. They all grew up together, the 4 bandmates, and Lizzie seemed to always be hanging around. As they got older, the innocence of childhood gave way to the beginnings of feelings, on both Brecken’s part and Lizzie’s. However, Lizzie’s brother didn’t like the idea, and tried to knock that into Brecken’s head! As is normal, life moves on and the band became famous and starts touring.

This book begins with a trip home for the band, and several run ins between Brecken and Lizzie. And of course, Lizzie’s brother still doesn’t like Brecken sniffing around his little sister! Although this story is about what is going on now, there are quite a few “flashback” scenes, to bring the reader up to date on what happened “way back then”.

The was an enjoyable read, well written, and the characters were interesting. They fit in well with the rest of the series, without relying too heavily on the events from those books. It reads well as a stand alone, too, if you haven’t gotten around to reading the other books. Just keep in mind that, naturally, there are some spoilers about events in the previous books contained within this one. All in all, it was a good series, and this book was a great addition to it!
