Masters and Mercenaries Bundle: The Early Ops (Masters and Mercenaries, #1-5)Masters and Mercenaries Bundle: The Early Ops by Lexi Blake

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

All together, this series of books has been fascinating. It’s been an adventurous ride full of twists and turns, that blended well from one story to the next. Each book has it’s own story line, but there is also an ongoing saga that continues from book to book. The first 5 books focus on the main characters from the McKay-Taggart group, how they found (or re-found) love. It’s also about family, and how its what you make it. This rag tag group has forged a family from adversity, life threatening danger, and trust. They depend on one another, and it’s really beautiful to see. This group of stories was amazingly well written, and I enjoyed each one individually. Putting them all together, and the on going saga just makes them that much more enjoyable!

The Dom Who Loved Me (Masters and Mercenaries, #1)The Dom Who Loved Me by Lexi Blake

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is book one in the Masters and Mercenaries series. Sean is the operative sent in undercover to investigate a company, trying to discover an eco terrorist. He is also a Dom in his personal life. It seems he is immediately attracted to Grace, even before meeting her. There is a spark, even when seeing a picture of her in a file.

Grace is a widow, who’s sons are grown and in college. Even though she is older, she still seems to be very innocent and trusting. She is the personal secretary of a head of a company, but things seem a little strange. Then she meets Sean, who is trying to work a deal with her boss. Right away, he draws her in. Magnetic. Intense. Undeniable. Despite her guilelessness, she has secret desires, and Sean sparks those cravings off like no one else ever has.

Sean and Grace together are like an inferno, a forest fire that can’t be put out. This book was pure heat, right from the beginning. It seemed like nothing could stop them being together, but at times, it also seemed like everything was trying to keep them apart. This book was fascinating, a heat filled beginning to a series that promises to be the next one to keep me glued to my ereader! I can’t wait to begin the next book!
The Men with the Golden Cuffs (Masters and Mercenaries, #2)The Men with the Golden Cuffs by Lexi Blake

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Jake and Adam are close. They do everything together. Work together, live together, even take their women together. And they’ve decided they want a woman permanently, together. In walks Serena. She is an erotic BDSM/Menage romance author. Sounds like she’s right up their alley, right? Only, she needs their help. She has a stalker, and its getting pretty scary!

Jake, Adam and Serena are great together, but they are all wary, each having been burned in the past. Lack of communications, jumping to conclusions, and stubbornness all play a part in almost destroying something that could be amazing. There were places in the book, that I just wasn’t sure if there was going to be an HEA or not. I was pulling for them, but my emotions were all over the place. I was so frustrated by them at times. (I mean, I really wanted to smack those guys upside the head at times! What are they thinking!)

This book is full of twists and turns, and I never knew what was coming next! The series revolves around a group that I would guess would be classified as PIs, so there is plenty of action and suspense along with the all of the romance and love I could handle. And the stalker! I never saw that coming! (No details, you’re just gonna have to read it to find out!) This book was both fun and serious, meaningful, and light-hearted at times. I can’t wait to dive into the next M&M book!

A Dom is Forever (Masters and Mercenaries, #3)A Dom is Forever by Lexi Blake

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh-Em-Gee. I knew it! But really, I had no clue! (clear as mud, right?!?) I mean, I knew that this book was about secrets, but I had no way of knowing how exciting, and unexpected, those secrets were. There really are no words to describe how much I loved this book. The characters were engaging, the plot was inspired, the action non-stop, and the surprises were out of this world!

Liam. Oh, Liam! I knew you were hiding something, but even still, you captured my imagination. The more secrets came to light, the more seemed to be hidden deep. Every page seemed to throw something new at me, and I just couldn’t stop reading! Not only his past, but the hurts from that past that seemed to come up when I least expected it.

And Avery, her tragedy made me want to weep. Her ability to bounce back, and come out on top is inspiring! It seemed that no matter how much life took away, she managed to turn it around and make it into something amazing.

Liam and Avery were a well matched pair, each bringing their own strengths and weaknesses to the relationship. Their story was perfect! This is a fast paced, dramatic love story. And that ending! Totally came out of left field, and definitely not something I could have predicted! It could be read as a stand alone, but there is an ongoing story arc that continues from previous books. The series is set up in a way, that each book has its own story, but also builds upon the events from the other stories. The book feels complete, but definitely leaves me wanting that next story!
On Her Master's Secret Service (Masters and Mercenaries, #4)On Her Master’s Secret Service by Lexi Blake

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Absolutely fabulous! There are no other words to describe how amazing this book is! This book focuses on Alex and Eve, whom we know from previous books, were married, but are now divorced. However, they still have a BDSM relationship, but it still isn’t what it should be. This book explains all of that, and takes us into their story.

Alex and Eve were blissfully happy, until a tragic, horrific incident put a wedge between them that eventually tore them apart. But neither one could really let go, so they were really in limbo. Alex is really obsessed with revenge on the person that caused everything, and that isn’t making anything better between them. Eve retreats into herself, and is unable to take back her life. This all changes when a tip comes in, and someone leads them in a new direction.

Alex and Eve’s relationship brings out so many emotions. Happiness, then horror, then deep sadness. They go through something that would destroy even the strongest person, and in the end, their relationship is even stronger than it was to begin with. Alex is everything that Eve needs, he just let himself forget for awhile.

This was a simply amazing story. There was so much action, so much drama, that I just couldn’t put it down. And that ending! I won’t spoil the surprise, but I will say I can’t wait to read the next book!
Love and Let Die (Masters and Mercenaries, #5)Love and Let Die by Lexi Blake

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The McKay-Taggart clan are at it again! And Ian has finally, finally found his HEA (or gone off the deep end!) This crazy group of rag tag trouble makers are roaming the globe, trying to put evil in its place, all while living the D/s life style. Super Alpha males and their strong willed, submissive partners make for adventures that are at times hilarious!

Ian is gruff. I can’t think of a better way to describe him. He had a bad childhood, had to grow up way too fast to take care of his younger brother, his father left, and his mother checked out. His personality is shaped by time in the military, as well as time as an “agent”. He is about as Alpha as you can get. But he has a few things that he has hidden, even from those that are closest to him, even from his family. Now, that past has come back from the dead, and he can’t get past his mistrust and anger to see to what could be.

Charlotte had a childhood that can only be described as horrific. Raised by a loving mother, and then by a Russian Mob father who was not only abusive physically, but mentally, Charlie has managed to spend her life taking care of her sister. She will do anything for anyone, often to the detriment of her self. She has sacrificed her happiness over and over again for her sister. And has lost the only good thing that she reached for, possibly forever. But now she is back, and trying to gain her only happiness back.

There is so much standing in Ian and Charlie’s way! Their interactions are so full of heart ache and mutual distrust, I wasn’t sure how they could see their way past it. And that isn’t taking into account the drama, and danger, that is swirling around them! This book was so captivating, I could not put it down! I loved how persistent Charlie was, and at times, I just wanted to shake Ian, tell him to stop being so inflexible and distrustful! I loved how they have all made a family within the McKay-Taggart group, and how they all know that they can depend on each other. It makes for an amazing story, and I’m looking forward to continuing the series!
