Mister Tonight by Kendall Ryan
Last night was the most embarrassing night of my life.
I was that girl.
You know, the highly intoxicated chick celebrating her thirtieth birthday with her two best friends—who are happily married. And the more I drank, the more I wanted to do something reckless to celebrate.
By reckless, I mean the sexy and alluring man dressed in a business suit standing near the bar. You know his type—tall, dark, handsome. I was sure he was out of my league, but I’d had just enough alcohol that things like that no longer seemed to matter. I’m not fat, mind you, but you can tell I like french fries, so there’s that.
He took me home, and I enjoyed the hottest birthday sex of my life. Well, until it came to a screeching and rather unwelcome halt.
There’s nothing quite like being interrupted mid-ride with a little voice asking, “What are you doing to my daddy?”
Just kill me now . . . or so I thought.
Come to find out, the man I rode like a bull at the rodeo is my new landlord.
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
What do you get when you add a commitment-phobe gossip columnist to a single father?!? Smokey hot goodness, that’s what! Oh boy, this book was HOT! But still, there were lots of really sweet times.
Kate doesn’t believe in forever. She’s seen what happens when it all falls apart. And she doesn’t want to put herself in the position to get her heart broken. So, she is going to stick with settling for Mister Tonight, and convincing herself that she is happy with that.
Hunter is a single father to a little girl, Maddy, who is absolutely a hoot! She is a riot! I can’t count how many times she had me laughing out loud! Even though Hunter’s relationship with his daughter’s mom didn’t turn out so great, he has retained his optimistic outlook on love, he just can’t find the one that will accept his life for what it is.
This book was at times hilarious, and at times sweet, and the heat levels were off the charts! The characters were realistic, fun, and worked well together. The story was well written and I loved Hunter and Kate (but Maddy is still my favorite!) This was a fabulous example of a romance that comes out of no where, and surprises you when you least expect it.
