Fighting for What’s His (Warrior Fight Club #2) by Laura Kaye
Resisting her only makes him want her more…
Private investigator Billy Parrish is good at three things—fighting, investigating, and sex. MMA training with the other vets in the Warrior Fight Club keeps his war-borne demons at bay—mostly, and one night stands ensure no one gets too close. But then his best friend from the Army Rangers calls in a favor.
Shayna Curtis is new to town, fresh out of grad school, and full of hope for the future. With a new job starting in a month, she’s grateful when her brother arranges a place for her to stay while she apartment hunts. But she never expected her roommate to be so brooding. Or so sexy.
Billy can’t wait for Shay to leave—because the longer she’s there, the more he wants her in his bed. To stay. He can’t have her—that much he knows. But when fight club stops taking off the edge, Billy lets down his guard…and starts fighting for what’s his.

This is the second book in the Warrior Fight Club Series, a series based around a fight club made up of former military, which helps them adjust to civilian life. An amazing concept, this series delves into alternative therapies that could be used to help our warriors adapt. This is Billy’s book, a former Army Ranger that was discharged due to injuries and is having a very hard time finding his place.
Billy is a strong Warrior, but he still has a lot of issues, that he seems to be avoiding, instead of dealing with. When his best friend, also a fellow Ranger that is still active duty, asks for a favor, he doesn’t hesitate. When his best friend’s little sister shows up, moving in with him while looking for her own place, his already strained coping mechanisms fall apart.
Shayna is a photo journalist. She has a brand new job with a DC news paper, and has relocated for that job. Staying with her older brother’s best friend (who she had a crush on as a teenager!) should be a huge help to her. But the old feelings she had for Billy are suddenly back.
Billy and Shayna are perfect together. Both have regrets in their pasts that haunt them. Both seem to ignore, rather than deal with the problems in their lives. And that almost costs them something amazing! This was another mind blowing story by an author that never fails to deliver a story that sticks with the reader.
