Ink By Numbers (Montgomery Ink: Colorado Springs #3.5) by Carrie Ann Ryan
Kaylee knows art, friendship, and love. And because she’s known love, she wants nothing to do with it ever again. She likes her life just the way it is. Her art and her Brushes with Lushes classes keep her sane and happy.
Landon spends his days with numbers and financial spreadsheets. At night, he just wants to relax, but the only way he can do that is with a woman. But these days, not just any woman will do.
Kaylee and Landon do an excellent job of dancing around each other, but no matter how much desire burns between them or their own personal hang-ups, they’ll need to make a choice: life as they know it, or a life that could be so much more.
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
As I finish this book, I literally have chills! This was an absolutely beautiful short romance, that really touched something inside me. It’s a novella length story set in the MI: Colorado Springs series. We get to visit with some of our favorite couples from previous stories, catching up on their lives.
Kaylee has a past that she is trying to forget. One that doesn’t make her happy. But she has a present that she is working on, and friends who are pulling her closer to that elusive happiness. She has always struck me as a person who works hard to bring joy to others. There is so much going on with Kaylee! So much hurt, it just makes my heart weep for her!
Landon, on the other hand, is just confused. I have to say, he wasn’t my favorite male character, because he gives the impression of not wanting to get involved in a relationship just so he can keep playing the field. Of course, as the story unraveled, and I learned more about him, I found him to be a very sweet guy.
This is an emotional, quick read. As with all of the MI stories, be prepared for a roller coaster of feelings, and look forward to turns you never even saw coming. I loved the tender moments, the connection and the absolute pure love between Kaylee and Landon. It’s perfect and beautiful! There really is no other way of putting it! I absolutely loved this story!
