My Review:

Seven of my favorite books, all in one box set!!!! And a bonus!!! What more can a girl ask for?!?

Center Mass (Code 11-KPD SWAT, #1)Center Mass by Lani Lynn Vale

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Center Mass is the first book in a new series by LLV, the third series by this author. Each book, she has written in a way that the books totally stand alone, but are connected to not only the other books in the series, but to the other series written by her as well (which I totally love!) This book is Luke (Baylee’s brother, from Lights to My Siren) and Reece’s (Tru’s sister, from Charge to my Line) And like the other books by this author, it is HOT! Smokin’ hot, five alarm fire type hot.

Luke is a stand up guy. Former military, single father, now he’s a police officer, and SWAT team leader. He’s been hurt and disappointed by relationships in the past, so he tends to shy away from them now. But one look at Reece, and everything he thought he wanted went out the window. There was no way he could deny the pull!

Reece is a single mother, with a bad relationship of her own. But it left her with her daughter, and her daughter is her life. But she can’t escape the fact that she wants Luke to be part of her life too. When her past comes back to haunt her, she has to decide if she can count on Luke, or if she and her daughter is better off on their own.

Luke and Reese are just plain combustible! The chemistry between them is unbelievable, and I loved their story! There was so much going on, that I couldn’t put it down. There was plenty of action, and lots of surprises (a few tears too, so be prepared!) If this book is an indication of what is coming in this series, I can’t wait to find out what happens next!

Double Tap (Code 11-KPD SWAT, #2)Double Tap by Lani Lynn Vale

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book killed me! Right from the beginning of this second chance romance , I knew I was going to be an emotional wreck by the end. And I definitely was! There were laughs, and tears. There were extreme highs, and lows so low, I didn’t think I’d be able to continue. This book plucked my heartstrings, but left me with a happy satisfaction that I’ve come to expect from this author.

Georgia loves Nico. And Nico loves Georgia. There was never any question about that. But when the are young, on the cusp of sharing their feelings with each other, a tragedy so horrible happens, it pulls them apart, tears their worlds apart, and I wasn’t sure there was any coming back from that. One heinous act changes both of them, and separates them for years. But when Georgia returns to their hometown, it’s like no time has passed, and their devotion to each other picks right up where they left off. They are perfect together, and it seems like their HEA is imminent and inevitable. Until tragedy strikes again, and tries to tear their worlds apart again.

This book took me for an emotional ride that I just couldn’t get off of. This was a wonderfully written story that I couldn’t put down, because I just had to know what happened to Nico and Georgia. I couldn’t help but love Nico and Georgia because of their perfectness, and devotion to one another, and their determination to be together, despite everything. It’s one I can read again and again, and still find those feelings of happiness at the end.

Bang Switch (Code 11-KPD SWAT, #3)Bang Switch by Lani Lynn Vale

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was so much fun! Danger, excitement, intrigue. Hidden surprises around every corner. Downy and Memphis kept me guessing, right through until the end. And that ending! I just could not stop laughing. Guess Stone had the last laugh, after all!

Memphis is a straight laced girl, just trying to make it on her own. She works hard, keeps to herself, and is trying to make something of herself. She’s trying to break away from her overprotective, overbearing, loving parents, to make her own way. A scary day at the office puts Downy in her path, and she just can’t deny the heat between them, even when she thinks the worst about him.

Downy is a smooth talking Swat officer, who’s joking nature hides a past he doesn’t want to think about. But one look at Memphis has him wanting to make her his, regardless of the consequences. They make their way through turmoil and strife, looking for that HEA that seems so elusive.

Downy is an enigma. He gives the impression of being a joker in the previous books, always having a joke, or something funny to say. But in Bang Switch, he is more serious. Could be the events that are going on. Could just be that he’s hiding his true self behind a wall of jokes, and only shows his true self to Memphis. Either way, I couldn’t help but feel it made for a better story, and really drew me in, because I wanted to see the real Downy. Memphis and Downy kept me guessing, and is a book that I’ve read over and over. This book (heck, the entire series!) is an absolute, must read!

Execution Style (Code 11-KPD SWAT, #4)Execution Style by Lani Lynn Vale

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Get ready for an emotional roller coaster! This book had me all over the place. I think my emotions hit impossible lows and crazy highs while reading this book. There were some tears, and a lot of laughs. There was so much going on in this book, I absolutely read it in one sitting, unable to put it down!

Mercy is a survivor. After a horrific assault, she puts her mind to moving on with her life, in the best way she knows how. It might not be typical, but it’s her life, and she knows what she needs to be able to cope and move forward. And she knows that it’s Miller that she needs.

Miller has seen it all, done it all, but nothing compares to witnessing Mercy’s devastating trauma. And he knows then and there, no matter what, he will do anything to help her get past it, and keep her in his life. But life has a way of throwing the past in your face, when you least expect it. Mercy and Miller have to work hard to keep it from tearing them apart.

I absolutely love Miller! I love how supportive he is of Mercy, and how resolute and unwavering he is of his decisions. He lets nothing and no one change his mind or question him. He is exactly what Mercy needs, and it is a beautiful thing! As difficult as some parts were (tears! Big, ugly girl tears!) I just can’t help but love this book!

Charlie Foxtrot (Code 11-KPD SWAT, #5)Charlie Foxtrot by Lani Lynn Vale

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

All the feels! There were so many tears while reading this book, there were parts where I just couldn’t stop crying! But there were also parts that I’d LOL, so it all evened out in the end.

Blake has a tough couple of years. Faced with the demise of her marriage, she is just getting her life back together, finding who she is on her own. And just when she thinks she has it all together, things start going crazy! And Foster adds to the crazy, but only in the very best way!

Foster’s life was turned upside down when he was trying to save his brother and sister-in-law from a crazy lady. Now he has to relearn how to do everything in his life. And he’s just now sure where to go from here. He’s working hard to reclaim his life, move forward. One glimpse of Blake, and he finds what he’s been looking for: a reason to rejoin life!

This book is special to me because….hello! Blake is a dispatcher! I can’t help but feel a connection with a fellow dispatcher! But seriously, I loved how both Foster and Blake came back from such horrible circumstances, even better than before. This book is all about taking the bad in life and making it what you want. And that makes this an amazing book to me!

Kill Shot (Code 11-KPD SWAT, #6)Kill Shot by Lani Lynn Vale

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kill Shot was a surprise, from beginning to end. It was nothing like I expected, and the author kept me guessing, to the point I never knew what was coming around the next corner. The characters were so much fun, and I enjoyed seeing them grow and find their HEA!

Lennox had an ideal childhood. She had a family that loved her. Everything was great until she went off to college and found out that sometimes people aren’t what they seem to be. Even a friend can hide psychopathic tendencies. Now she is out of school, working hard at a job she loves, living her life, and she just can’t escape the crazy she picked up in college.

Bennett has his own brand of crazy to deal with. Bad choices in high school haunt him as an adult, popping up when he least expects it. But one glimpse of Lennox, and he knows that she belongs in his life, even with all of the complications that come with them being together!

Lennox and Bennett are amazing together. Their personalities work so well together, even though they are both so stubborn and each think they know best! I loved watching them clash, and I loved watching them learn each other. This was such a fun story, full of surprises!

Coup De Grâce (Code 11-KPD SWAT, #7)Coup De Grâce by Lani Lynn Vale

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

As much as I knew that this was coming, that Michael and Nikki had a story waiting to be told, I was in no way prepared for this story. I knew it’d be complicated, and messy, and I’d absolutely fall in love, (because that’s what LLV does best!) but this story had just as much internal conflict as it did external. Mostly, this author’s stories are based on a love story that is (almost) thwarted by crazy situations and even crazier bad guys, but in Coup de Grace, there is also an internal conflict that Michael and Nikki have to overcome. I found, reading their story, that I really liked that. It highlights the characters strengths, and how hard they have to work to be together!

Nikki is a paramedic, well on her way to becoming a midwife. She knows what she wants, and works hard to achieve it. She’s also a people person. (Almost) Everyone loves her! And at one point, she thought she had everything she wanted. Until a misunderstanding took the man she loved away from her.

Michael is a mess! His life never seems to work out how he plans, and he has to work twice as hard as everyone else does, just to make it from one day to the next. He has issues that seem to get in the way of everything important. And even when he knows what he wants, he isn’t sure he should have it. Until everything changes.

I adored this book! I loved how LLV highlighted Michael’s issues, putting a spotlight on something that isn’t often talked about. It was done in such a way that I could put myself in his shoes, could understand what he was thinking, what he was dealing with. And I loved how supportive Nikki is, even when most would not be so understanding (Yes, even when she lets her tempter get the best of her!) There’s is a perfect pairing, each providing what the other needs. An amazing ending to the KPD Swat series!

A Swat Call Before Christmas:

I didn’t think this could get any better, but then LLV throws in a bonus story, with all of my favorite characters from the series, hints at what is coming in the SWAT 2.0 series, and a little story that had me ROFLMBO! Even if you have (and have read!) all of the books in the series, this story is definitely worth getting the box set!!!!
