Fierce (Wolf Ranch # 5) by Renee Rose & Vanessa Vale
Pack Rule #5: Happy mate, happy fate.
Fate has it in for me.
She’s sent me the sassiest, strong-willed female imaginable.
Wolf Ranch’s new veterinarian.
A human who thinks I do everything wrong.
Thinks she knows large animals better than I do.
And who doesn’t want anything to do with me.
But I knew the first time I caught her scent she belonged to me.
So I’ll show her a large animal. One she can’t resist.
Or at least one who can’t resist her.
I’ll prove she doesn’t know everything about four-legged beasts.
Especially not the fiercest ones who stalk their prey in the night.
Especially not one determined to prey on her.
So far, I’ve adored each book in this series. They are hot, and exciting, and I just can’t get enough. Right from the beginning of each book, I just knew the characters were exactly right for each other. With Fierce, I just wasn’t sure. And that really threw me. There is always a sense of insta love in the books by both of these authors that set a scene for romance that I absolutely love. Charlie and Levi are both so confused, so mixed up about themselves, I just wasn’t sure if they could find their way to an HEA.
Levi has had a hard life. Put in a situation in childhood where he was prevented from being who he is, he still can’t quite open himself up enough to live his life to the fullest. He has found a new family for himself, one that he can count on, but doesn’t think the mate life is for him. He has resigned himself to being alone.
Charlie has an amazing life. Stressful, but amazing. Until it isn’t. Her life is spiraling out of control and she doesn’t know what to do about it. A trip out of town, a glimpse of Levi, and everything changes. Priorities change. But can she really have what she wants?!?
I wasn’t sure if I liked Charlie or not, in the beginning. I could tell she was hiding something, and I was afraid she was going to hurt Levi (I really like Levi!!!!) She had some big secrets, some that could have hurt a lot of people, some that could have blown up in their faces! But, in the end, love is what matters, and it was an amazing HEA! For a story that I had mixed feelings about, it turned out to be one of my favorite of the series!
