Perfect Embrace (Mason Creek #8) by Kaylee Ryan
Home is where the heart is, and Mason Creek is mine.
Until Grayson walked into my bookstore, I thought happily ever afters were just fairy-tale endings. Looking every bit the handsome hero, his intensity creates sparks I’ve never dared to dream about. The single dad of adorable twin girls doubles as a firefighter by day. But there’s more. Grayson is also my old high-school crush.
My feelings for Grayson haven’t changed, but everything else has.
Having lost my wife three years ago, my world revolves around raising my daughters. Then one day, I look up and see past my grief, and there stands Laken. This beautiful, kind-hearted woman has been under my nose my entire life, and now, just when I need her most, she’s here- loving my daughters like her own. But guilt can’t be reasoned with, especially when finding love again.
I’ve learned the hard way that second chances don’t happen often. So, when I’m lucky enough to get mine, I’m going to embrace it with everything I have.
I’m just going to start by saying the concept for this series is really awesome, and I’ve totally enjoyed all of the books I’ve read so far! I’ve loved reading a series by different authors, each one about a new couple, but still keeping to the same community, and the same group of people. But be prepared for a few big, ugly tears! This book is one of those that will make your heart hurt, make you smile, even laugh out loud a few times. I couldn’t stop reading, each new page pulling me further into their lives, promising a HEA that shines brighter than any that came before!
Grayson knows love. He knows happiness. And he knows devastation and tragedy. He lives his life, day by day, raising his twin daughters alone, even though that isn’t how his life was supposed to be. How is he supposed to move forward, move past the hurt and guilt? Is it possible to have a perfect love, twice in one lifetime?
This author never fails to rip my heart out….in the very best way!!!! And even though Laken and Grayson had to go through some really hard times to get to the good, I wouldn’t have it any other way! Their story is one of tragedy, and pain, but also one of hope and family and love. It’s a perfect mix of everything that I love about a romance, and so much more! I can’t wait to read more about Mason Creek!
